A bramble tour of my garden
I hacked some brambles and because not much else in my garden is thriving I thought why not commemorate these absolute troopers.

This bramble is trying to avoid being hacked by pretending it is a rose.

This bramble gives no shits and is just hanging out. It went up the wall/fence and then just leapt out and grew back down in the air.

This bramble is trying to kill me on the path.

This bramble is trying to kill my baby silver birch as if the weather isn't doing that anyway.

This bramble is the one making its way from one side of the garden to the other. It is currently 4.8m and it is so straight I can't believe it. I step on it every time I hang out my washing. I did not hack it because I really want to see how far it can go.
When we moved into the house four years ago the garden was mostly brambles. Sometimes I get frustrated but then look at old photos and think, no, we are doing great. Many of these brambles have their origins outside our garden so there's not much I can do about them other than cutting and cutting. The ones in my garden I dig out. I like them, and the ivy, just not in the middle of the garden strangling all my plants.
