April 2026 monthlog
April has not disappointed. Five weather fronts a day, frost, some terrific wind, thunder, and glorious sunshine so that I even got sunburnt.
Updates here
- 24 posts this month
- wrote a post about a book in a way I might like to do again and started a little ball rolling thinking about community
- made a time travel page and a list of Fiction, poetry, and writing blogs on Bear
- I'm trying out the previous/next buttons, fiddling with displaying longer lists of links, and different designs for some pages
Progresses elsewhere
- significant attrition has occurred in the garden. Down to about a hundred tiny tomatoes, the okra are DOA, the broccoli is ten cms tall and flowering, and only six peppers and chillies. The salad bed is looking great though
- organised all our dressing up costumes and accessories and there's more of it than I have actual clothes. This month we got dressed up as Jigglypuff (my wife) and a Pokémon trainer (me). The spring cleaning is as done as it's ever going to be, anything left will have to wait for an autumn clean
- played Alien RPG, cleaned my mother-in-law's gutters, went to see my favourite film / the worst film in the world at the cinema again, more children's birthday parties, more D&D, found a great new pizza place, ordered 120 samosas in one weekend for three separate occasions and only ate five percent of them myself, went to see Derren Brown (not my idea), successfully avoided axe throwing, hid through several games of Gelsoft, held a chick
Favourites this month
- Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
- The Drama
- tempted to say Sharknado. Not the film but the experience of watching the film
Not many songs because there has been significant repetition going on.
♫ Something Good - Tuvaband, Cold - Morning Ritual and Lizzy Land, Silk - Wolf Alice, Encounters at the End of the World - Thomas Feiner, Bad Kingdom - May The Muse and Robot Koch, Modern Drift - Efterklang, Let Me In - Snowmine.
May things
- open water swimming starts back up at my regular place
- not done with birthdays yet
