Deadlines whooshing by

Updates on progresses this month. I'd say this is about accountability but it's clearly not.

I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by. — Douglas Adams

The Marianne North thing is achievable in the sense that I just need to keep putting one foot in front of the other. It just was not achievable in a month - which was actually less than three weeks because I freaked out for the first week, was away for some of the last, and busy the whole way through. But I made a start and that is good! I've kept it up since the deadline whooshed past.

The Cassette Case Game Jam I really thought I would have got done by now. The deadline is the end of the month but I've stalled on the very final hurdle of actually putting it online. This weekend!

I've messed around with a couple of zines, which has been fun but not very organised.

The spare room tidying went well, continues to go well. I keep going and looking at it. I think that might be pride. Next I need to sort out the catastrophic stationery cupboard.

Definitely hitting my French goals this month. That makes a nice change. I track my French learning in a pretty casual way. Mostly to make sure I balance the different types and not just watch thirty hours of tv.

I've not picked up a new course since I finished the last one. So that's something to look into. Should probably look at a literature one. And get back on Codecademy.

I'd entertained wild ideas about posting a chapter* but I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen. Not because I can't do the chapter - it's halfway done. But because I don't want to deal with the final two chapters coming after. Classic procrastination.

So, update-wise: not much! September is always pretty action-packed with family stuff keeping me busy. Plus my wife has been away a lot, making me significantly less motivated. It's still good to look back at it all though.
