Highlights of my week
There's someone I know, probably a lot of people we all know, who is always wishing away whole tranches of time. "I've just got to get through the week," they say. Like it can't come soon enough, they just want it over and done with. And I do sympathise. We've all had times like that. But it's every week. Sometimes whole months are wanting to be skipped.
So I was thinking about little weekly things I love.
- my Spotify Discover Weekly on Mondays
- pizza on Fridays
- taking my niece to violin class and other childcare
- what nonsense the niblings are going to get up to
- checking the listings for my favourite cinema
- getting the gossip from the old people
- reading new books
- seeing what new books are at the library and adding to my impossibly long TBR list
- going swimming
- hanging out with the family
- talking to my friends
- writing stories, writing on the blog
- chances to help people at work
- getting visited by the cat(s)
- poking around the charity shops on my street
- seeing how many samosas I can eat
- changing the bed so it's nice and fresh
- planning next week with my wife
- playing DnD, or prepping to play DnD
- memes from my brother
- what absolutely random thing my wife will want to watch now
- bopping along on a walk
- seeing the stars (hopefully)
- checking what's going on in my night sky almanac and newsletters
- having a dance party
- the sheer satisfaction of bin day
This could be the week I hear my new favourite song, read an amazing book, watch a film that will change my life, meet someone cool, discover a new hobby. No matter what else is going on, I don't want to miss it.
