Not really playing Skyrim
My wife has been playing Skyrim, full of resolutions to do a different playthrough this time! And then making the exact same character doing the exact same things she always does. Relatable I think.
Every so often she tries to reminisce with me about a character or quest.
And I'm like... I don't recognise any of this.
This is not the Skyrim I play.
The Skyrim I play, or want to play, is where I go as far as Riften and help make it less of a dump. I wish I could replace the bad paving slabs. Do the place up a bit. I pick mushrooms round the lake and build a little hut in the woods. I defend myself from bears and watch dragons fly over on their way to fight someone else. On the odd occasion I do find myself in a dungeon I am an extremely tidy looter.
It's definitely in my personal canon of games even though by no definition do I play it 'properly', have never 'finished' it, and never will.
