Motivated by my master studies post and also a bit by the pictures of the salons in 1910 comes a list of paintings of paintings.
Note on Las Meninas and similar, which I originally had here, then took out, and am now putting back: These are less self portraits or the act of painting and more 'paintings as they were displayed' type paintings.

Might have to start a notes page about art or something. (I did.) I've got a database of women artists, that's good fun but pretty much obsolete after Katy Hessel's A History of Art Without Men came out. Also I'm realising how horrible images look on the site so I'm going to have to do something about that.
