What the Fran

Project progresses

Slightly horrifyingly it's halfway through the month I set myself to do some stuff. And where am I?

Course correcting.

Dutifully got set up to do my first session on the book notes and worked for an hour and a half. Got all the way to page three. Horrified by this slowness and too bad at maths to work out more detailed ramifications than "extremely slow" I didn't touch it for another week. Extraordinarily counter productive, obviously.

Then I got over it and got back on it and have been making much more consistent progress and sometimes faster than thirty minutes per page. I found some very useful websites and very fun tidbits in the text.

I'm still not entirely sure what format these notes will take. Which is why I'm not posting them as I go. At least not until I figure that out. I'd thought an index style but there's a lot of very small bits of information and I'd like to set it in context so that gets unwieldy. It might end up being more of an essay. Several essays? Plus an index? Maybe, as a practice, I will write something for here.

Most likely this will not be 'done' in the next two weeks. But it will be a heck of a lot closer to done than it would otherwise have been.

On the spare room project it's been so hot recently that I can only go into the attic at the crack of dawn, otherwise it's suffocating up there. But also been needing to keep things tidy for all the visitors so I can't stack all the boxes somewhere pending going in the roof. This will absolutely get done though. I've had to detach my emotions from it. More mechanical. So it's not been 'sorted through' or 'organised' in any sense. Just: stuff in box, box away. Once the boxes are gone I'll have room to manoeuvre.

Updates on some other projects, why not:
