Wishlist for HTML, CSS, and Markdown
Reading about HTML Day and thinking about the olden days.
The above is actually marqueeing for me, on Firefox. It might not be for you.
Blink however is not working. Unless the above is blinking for you. Just as well, another abomination. Everyone hates them.
Imagine if, rather than using emojis to lend tone to our text, we wrapped it in tags? That seems like it could be an easy alternate universe. Like the /s but for all emotions.
All this stuff is a marvel, this is all said with love, and what do I know anyway. So I present my wishlist.
colour and centre would solve many of my biggest errors and time wastes. Ideally I could define something at the top, some sort of alias, and it would treat color and colour the same
read time and word count would be so good
dark mode toggle to save everyone making their own
layout-1995-table a 200px left column and the right is the rest. A table, naturally
actually-centered like please, just centre or align or whatever. It's !important but with a hint of despair
border-style: retro pitching a Windows 95 style border and there is at least groove and ridge but this would weight differently on the top and bottom
a-color: classic just the classic blue and purple. No hover, no visited, it just works
|| A column || Another column || for Markdown columns within the text. I've been trying to do a column layout and surely it's harder than it needs to be?
Multiple line breaks supported by Markdown. Standard ___ --- *** is great but maybe a fancy scrolled one _~_ or ASCII stars *~*?
dead tag for links that greys them or makes them unclickable but for when you want to keep a record
typewriter where it types the words out. You can set a wpm
sparkle makes words sparkle. Or via Markdown with ~*sparkly*~ I'd probably mostly use this sarcastically, so while we're at it why not an actual sarcasm tag. sArCaSm cAsE
gay for a nice rainbow gradient
ghost all pale and shimmery. This is making me think about ghost signs and palimpsests and layering text to show changes over time... hmmm.
construction or !!construction!! We all know what we mean, we all want the same under construction banner
weeds as an alternative to construction where it was constructed but has since fallen into disrepair
