What the Fran

Zines

A secret page about my zines, at which I am very new. All done on Canva. I'm going to add some good zine resources and so on.

Here's a thing. I am very bad at making physical zines. I can't staple on the crease? Ever? And I can't fold minizines accurately? Not the layout, like so the corners aren't wildly different.

Horizons

A prompt for my writing group. Minizine. There's a web-readable image and a pdf link.

My Grandparents' Furniture

Is, surprisingly, about my grandparents' furniture. That I have, that I like. It doesn't print great and it's only short but too wordy to be a mini. A puzzle in progress.

My Favourite Film / The Worst Film in the World

Don't know the name for this but it's a two-in-one flip-over zine. One direction is about my favourite film. The other is about The Worst Film in the World. A6 / quarter size, sixteen pages.

Wide World Geographical Magazine

A mock 1930s geography magazine containing a very elaborate in-joke with myself in the form of a short story I wrote about Lady Cassandra Carisbrooke. All wildly unnecessary but enormously good fun. A5 twenty pages.

Landmarks of [City]

But like, my actual city which I'm not going to name on the internet! I drew maps and marked important landmarks such as where a pigeon pooed in my chips. The fun part was folding it like a map and doing the Ordnance Survey-style cover. Single sheet.

Joyride

A prompt from my writing group, again. About joy. Got some facts, some creative writing, and a cut-out make-your-own thaumatrope. A6 / quarter size, twenty pages.
